Aesthetically Speaking is a Boutique Salon that specializes in lash extensions, waxing, brows, microblading and facials. We also offer Facials and different skincare treatments, as well as a full line of products to get your skin glowing! We strive to house the best lash and brow artists in Reno who are passionate about their careers.
Aesthetically Speaking believes that when you look good, you feel good! Each of our clients are unique and valued, that is why each service is tailored specifically to the individual client to insure their wants and needs. We believe that educating and communicating with our clients every step of the way, is key to the beautiful outcome you are looking to achieve!
Meet The Team
Alana Davis
Alana is the founder of Aesthetically Speaking.
Alana has been a practicing Aesthetician since 2000. She has worked for Salons, Spa’s, Dermatologists, Plastic Surgeon’s, as well as an independent aesthetician in Reno for over 23 years. She started Aesthetically Speaking in 2014 in a small location in the heart of Reno’s Midtown. After 3 years, she quickly grew out of that location & moved her business to a larger location. Now, after 5 years, and training multiple artist’s over the years, she has found her “Dream Team” Alana took her first lash certification in 2007 with Xtreme Lashes & is a 5X certified lash artist. Alana personally trains all of her artists & recently founded her own lash line “Alana Davis Artistry” Alana is also a talented 4X certified Microblading artist & has been Microblading since 2014. Alana believes you can never have enough training & is constantly finding the hottest/newest trends in the aesthetic field! Her motto is “Quality over Quantity” and you can bet, you will never receive franchise products or service’s when you visit her salon!
You will also see Alana still working closely with all of her aestheticians!
Alana just purchased their location on Mill Street. This location will encompass 6 beautiful new treatment rooms, a private Microblading room with 2 work stations, as well as a state of the art training room for advanced Lash Artist’s & Microblading classes, will be available to students in 2023.
Ashley Miknus
Or as we like to call her “Lashley”!!
Ashley is a full Cosmo & started her career doing hair for__ yrs. She later found that she had a true passion for Aesthetics. Ashley was the first artist to join Aesthetically Speaking and now nearly 8 yrs. later, she has earned the lead aesthetician position. She has mastered every aspect of aesthetics! She is a 4 times certified master lash artist with 8 yrs. experience under her belt.
She also is a 2 x certified Microblading artist and has been Microblading for 5 years.
Ashley is certified by HydraFacial. She is a master with skin care, facials, waxing, and anything else aesthetics is outstanding, and it shows in her work!
Ashley is happily married and has two beautiful babies & enjoys tattoos, body art, ceramics, and growing up in the mountains enjoys both skiing & snowboarding. Ashley is originally from Jackson Hole, Wyoming & her obsession is designer handbags (but she will tell you different)!!!
Sara Balderrama
Sara was the second aesthetician to join Aesthetically Speaking. Before mastering aesthetics, she worked in the industry as a nail technician for 9 years, 3 of them being with us! She is extremely detail oriented & making the transition to aesthetics was effortless for her. She has been an aesthetician for 6 years and we joke with her that anything she touches turns to a masterpiece! She is a true artist in every aspect of the word!!! Lashes and brows being her true work of art! She is also a 3 x certified master lash artist & 2 x certified Microblading artist specializing in powder brows. Anything from facials, to waxing, to lashes, to brows, once you go to Sara, you’ll know exactly what we mean……True artist is all we can say!!
Sara is also a lead aesthetician here with Aesthetically Speaking and certified by HydraFacial. Sara was born & raised in Reno Nevada and married her high school sweetheart & is a proud “boy mom” of two beautiful baby boys. She loves the outdoors & motorcycles & hates vegetables
Cenora Johnson
Cenora joined Aesthetically Speaking in 2021 & we couldn’t have picked a better fit for the salon. Prior to joining our team, Cenora was a lash client of the salon for 10 years, so she knew lashing from a client perspective before she even started. She quickly became a client favorite as she puts them to sleep with her gentle touch. Clients say it’s like butterflies floating across your face. Her talent was effortless, and her first set looked like she had been doing lashes for years!! She also has a love of skincare & if you look at her and her skin, you’ll understand why! She also quickly built her clientele within the first few months of joining us & is now a 2 x certified lash artist, certified by HydraFacial, Image & Cirepil wax pro’s.
Cenora is happily married and has a beautiful little girl. Cenora enjoys wine tasting & we have assigned her to be the wine shopper of the salon!
Aurelia Rios De La Rosa
Auri, as we all call her is the salons “Sassy Latina”!! Auri joined Aesthetically Speaking in 2018 & is the life of our Salon.
Prior to becoming an Aesthetician, Auri was a phlebotomist . Her precise skills, and eye for perfection have made her an excellent Aesthetician.
Within a matter of months, Auri had built a huge clientele with her master lash and waxing skills!! Her laughter & personality are contagious, and you’ll be lucky if you can get in with her now!! She is a 2 x certified master lash artist specializing in Mega Volume Lashing and a speed wax PRO, specializing in Brazilians, and can do a full body wax in under an hour! Auri is also certified by HydraFacial, Image skincare, and Cirepil wax pro’s.
Auri is a Reno native & married to the love of her life & has two beautiful boys. She loves cooking, working out, her family and is always keeping our taste buds in check with a Mexican specialty that she has grown up with (and we love her for that!)
Auri is also fluent in both Spanish & English. She has more animals than she does kids.
Sierra Stenftenage
Sierra is actually the “Baby of the Salon” as we like to call her!! She is the newest member of the salon, and although only being here just under a year, has also become a salon favorite! Her master brow shaping skills, and waxing proficiency quickly earned our respect!
Before joining our tribe, Sierra worked for a salon franchise and mastered full body waxing, with an emphasis on Brazilian’s and brows. She earned her Cosmetology license in Medford, Oregon in 2017, and transferred credits here to Nevada in 2021. She was also a salon client for years before joining us!! She quickly mastered lashing in just under 3 months & we were amazed with her beautiful handmade fans & how quickly she was perfecting beautiful sets of lashes!! She truly has a love for her job as an aesthetician & it shows in her work!
She loves learning new techniques to perfect her craft. Certified thru HydraFacial, Image Skincare & Cirepil wax Pro’s.
Sierra is engaged to her wonderful fiancé, and a mother of 3 beautiful children. She is very artistic, a talented painter, and a perfectionist & it shows through everything she touches.
