We use Cirepil Blue Hard Wax and the highest quality soft wax for all our services. We never double dip and you will love the high quality linens that line your heated bed. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How long should I go without shaving before I get my first brazillian/wax?
It is ideal to wait for 4 weeks if you can, but we can still get a decent wax if there has been at least 2 weeks with no shaving. The hair should be at least the length of a grain of rice.
When does it grow back?
The hair should stay completely gone for approximately 2 1/2 weeks to 3 weeks. In the 4th week the hair will come back, but it is stunted by 75% making it grow back in very soft & sparse.
What happens if I have to shave in between waxes?
Shaving in between waxing is not recommended. You may want to decide if you’re going to be a “waxer” or a “shaver” Shaving in between waxes causes the follicle to be confused. You are more likely to get in-grown hairs if you switch back & forth.
Who is the best candidate for waxing?
People that have problems with shaving ie: in-grown hairs, redness, bumps, irritation are great candidates for waxing! Or just anyone who is tired of shaving & wants absolutely no hair growth for 2-4 weeks. If you are a person that can shave every day without irritation, experience has shown us that you may have problems with waxing, however not always.
How do I prepare for my first wax?
As you’ve probably read online, prior exfoliation is NOT necessary. Waxing is exfoliating, so just have clean skin, no lotions or oils prior to your appointment. Wear loose fitting clothing (comfortable) if you can & make sure you haven’t shaved for at least 2 weeks, and relax…..we got you!
Is there any aftercare?
Not really, we just don’t recommend any heavily fragranced lotions or oils on the treatment area, as they can irritate the newly opened follicle. Make sure to wear sunscreen if you will be going into the sun (the area has been exfoliated) and will burn easily. You can resume any and all activities you did prior to waxing immediately.
Waxing & Pregnancy?
You can wax right up to delivery & this is our specialty! Just be sure to notify us (if we can’t tell) that you are expecting. Our beds, pillows, wax & techniques have been perfected over the years to make sure both momma & baby are comfortable with waxing (everything you can’t see anymore) all the way up to your delivery date & it’s perfectly safe.
Can I get waxed if I’m menstruating?
Yes, you can! This is an etiquette that has been questioned for many years, but you’re in good hands here with us. Our bathroom is full of fancy products for your use, prior to your wax. It is entirely up to you (if you feel comfortable) Your body is a little more sensitive when it’s “that time of the month”, but again, we got you!!
Ingrown hairs & waxing?
An ingrown hair is actually an infected hair follicle, kinda like a pimple. Waxing (or the kind of wax, or technique) are NOT the cause of ingrown hairs. It is your skin that determines if you’re going to get an ingrown hair or not? If you’re going to get ingrown hairs from waxing, they likely won’t appear for about 10 -14 days AFTER your wax. Exfoliating after waxing will help to prevent ingrown hairs. If you’re going to be a person that gets them, we carry many different products to help keep them away. Our aestheticians will talk with you & recommend one that will work for you and your skin.
